The Voluntary Program in rivers of the LIFE IREKIBAI Project has supported the City Council of Leitza (Navarra) in cleaning the Leitzaran River. As a result, almost half a hundred local volunteers made a cleaning of garbage, plastics and other waste in different races that flow into the Leitzaran River as it passes through Leitza. At the end of the morning, in order to sensitize the neighbors about the importance of caring for our rivers, the almost two tons of garbage removed from the regattas were exhibited in the town square.
